The masthead on this vibe front cover is big and bold so it stands out well with the background and photo. Because of the simplicity of this front cover I think it is necessary to have the font as big as it makes it easy to read and so the cover does not look to boring which will cause fewer readers to be interested.
The artists name is also quiet large are very close to the image so people instantly know that this is the artists that will be features in the magazine. Also the artists name is in black whereas everything else in the cover line is red so that the artist stands out more. Furthermore the name ‘T.I’ is in a bigger font so that the target audiences for the artists are drawn towards the magazine.
Only 3 colours are used on this cover; red, black and white. This makes the cover easy to read and also easier to follow as there are not a huge variety of colours throwing you off. Using three colours might make magazine look plain but because of the vague usage of colours it may help the magazine to stand out amongst others.
The picture is on the artists looking straight at you to get your attention. This will inform you that there will be a section on this artist inside the magazine. It is a close up shot used of T.I allowing us to see his facial expression clearly which makes the audience feel involved given that the image of the male artist is looking straight at them. T.I is an artist that mostly makes rap or hop-hop music and in this particular image he is wearing a suit and a very unconventional hat for a rapper, this is subverting the stereotype of him.
